Selain motor skuter matik maxi Entor Q dan motor sport futuristis X21, di 2016 Autoshow TVS juga menampilkan motor trail 450cc:

Yang membuat penulis berpikir bahwa motor ini ada kemungkinan akan di jual oleh BMW juga adalah karena beberapa fakta berikut:

TVS punya perjanjian untuk produksi mesin dibawah 500cc untuk BMW

The partnership gives TVS the opportunity to enter segments above 200cc where margins are better than in the cut-throat entry-level segment in which its products sell currently. “The tie-up gives us the ability to manufacture products above 250cc which we do not make today,” says VenuSrinivasan, chairman and managing director, TVS Motor, who adds that he is impressed with BMW Motorrad’s focus on technology, quality, durability, reliability, engine performance, emission standards and the high end manufacturing processes.

Kerjasama memungkinkan TVS untuk bisa masuk segmen diatas 200cc dimana keuntungan bisa lebih besar daripada persainan keras segmen entri level yang sekarang ini diproduksi. Dikatakan bahwa ikatan ini memungkinkan TVS untuk memproduksi produk diatas 250cc yang mereka tidak buat sekarang ini menurut Chairman dan direktur TVS.

Presiden dari BMW Motorrad mengatakan bahwa dengan TVS mereka bermaksud untuk masuk di segmen dibawah 500cc, yang pasarnya sedang berkembang di Asia dan Amerika selatan, dimana yang laris adalah motor dengan kapasitas kecil.

Entah mulai kapan, produk motor offroad BMW G450X sudah tidak lagi muncul di pilihan motor yang dijual di website remsi. Tampilan halaman juga jadi kacau:

Mesin yang dipergunakan oleh BMW G450X adalah produksi dari Kymco.
BMW Taps KYMCO

BMW’s forthcoming G 450 X enduro is powered by an engine sourced from Taiwan’s Kwang Yang Motor Co. Ltd. (KYMCO). Although developed by BMW, the 449cc single-cylinder DOHC four-stroke engine powering the model is manufactured by KYMCO in Kaoshiung, Taiwan, then shipped to BMW’s motorcycle production facility in Berlin.

Sementara untuk bodi, kemungkinan di produksi oleh Husqvarna yang punya pabrik dan pengalaman membuat motor offroad kompetitif. Husqvarna sempat jadi milik BMW mulai tahun 2007:

Hurqvarna dibeli oleh CEO KTM di 2013.

On 31 January 2013 BMW Group announced that Pierer Industrie AG has bought full stake in Husqvarna AG for an undisclosed amount. The company is headed by Stefan Pierer, current CEO of KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG.

TVS punya motor trail 450cc yang juga satu silinder hasil kerjasama dengan Sherco

Walau tidak persis sama, TVS juga punya mesin offroad 450cc satu silinder. TVS bekerja sama dengan Sherco awalnya untuk ikut lomba paris dakar:

Melihat banyak kemiripan dari modelnya, bisa jadi bahwa model TVS RTR 450 FX itu diambil dari G450X yang nantinya akan dijual BMW.
